Steele Percussion
Steele Percussion is an essential component of the Steele Band program. They are comprised of two main groups, battery (drumline) and front ensemble (pit). Both of these groups work together to form the rhythmic foundation of the entire band program. During marching season, battery is on the field marching with the award-winning Steele Band and Guard, while front ensemble sets the stage at the front of the field grounding the band for each performance.
After marching season, Steele Percussion periodically competes in indoor percussion where they learn an entirely separate show that competes into the spring. This separate competition season allows our percussionists the opportunity to improve their technical skills and focus solely on honing their abilities as a percussion ensemble. During this spring season, percussion is also contributing to the concert ensembles for UIL evaluations.
Steele Percussion is more than just a section of the band. Our award-winning percussion ensemble brings all the energy! Whether on the field or on the stage, they are an integral part of the success of our
Steele Band and Guard program.
