Percussion Audition Material
The percussion audition process will be split into 2 parts. The first being a group audition held in the
Steele High School band hall on April 22nd and April 24th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm each day. The second part will be an individual audition that will take place in class the week of April 28th. Results will be posted on May 2nd.
To be considered for a spot in the marching show you MUST complete the audition information form below.
Snare/Tenor:
*8/8/16 - 12" @ 120bpm
*Ghost Town - 3" @ 140bpm
*Forward Left Box Drill @ 100, 120, 140bpm
(If auditioning for tenors, you must play the arounds.)
Bass/Cymbal:
*8/8/16 - Unison & Bass 2 Split - 12" @ 120bpm
*16th Note Timing - 9" @ 112bpm
*Forward Left Box Drill @ 140bpm
Front Ensemble:
*4/3/2/1 - 12" @ 100bpm
*Lockjaw - C & F Major, 12" @ 120bpm
*Blocks - L/R & 1324, 9" @ 90bpm
--Students auditioning for a drumline position must mark time during all exercises.--
